The Power of “IS/ARE” statements

A few months ago, I wrote about the power of, “I AM” statements.  In that post, I suggested you use “I AM…” statements to help you powerfully manifest the life of your dreams.  In the eyes of The Universe, “I am” statements are statements of fact.  Whatever you say you are is what you are, as far as The Universe is concerned.  As a result, consciously making empowering, “I AM” statements can help shape and define your life.

The great thing about “I am” statements is you can use them to help improve your relationships with the people around you.  When you say things like, “We are…” or “They are…” you also call into existence more of the corresponding qualities.

For example, if you are talking about your coworkers and you say, “WE ARE a terrific team!”  You create an even better and more cohesive team.  Or in relation to your spouse, “He/She IS loving and supportive”, you are guaranteed to create even more love and support.

Remember, these types of statements do not need to be true NOW, they simply need to be positive beliefs you choose to manifest,

To be clear, “They are”, “He/she is”, or “We are” statements are not about changing other people.  We have no power to manifest or force change on others nor should we try.  Instead, these types of statements reframe our views or beliefs about the relationship with these individuals.  As you begin to react differently and more positively to the relationship the other person/people may also begin to react in a more positive way.  Or they may not.  Either way you will be in a better frame of mind and your inner peace and positivity are all that matter when it comes to achieving your dreams.

“Is/Are” statements are not an end all cure all.  If your boss acts like a jerk or your spouse is abusive, using “Is/Are” statements most likely will not miraculously make the situation better, but they may help you manifest a space for yourself that makes your life tolerable until you can create a plan to move on.

Now that you are aware of the power of, “IS/ARE” statements, think about some of the relationships your would like to reinforce or improve and then write down a few statements to support what you want to create.

Feel free to share your statements below to help inspire and motivate other readers.

Until next time:

What Are You Grateful RIGHT NOW?

As I write this, I am sitting on my patio on a sunny, 80 degree afternoon while sipping a glass of wine, and listening to the birds sing and chirp merrily.  It is blissful and I am grateful.

There are so many things to be grateful for every moment of every day that we can often take some of life’s simple pleasures for granted.  But, if we take a few short moments each day to stop and reflect on what we have to be thankful for in that moment, we can begin to see how truly fortunate we are, even if that particular instant is not one of our best or happiest.  Finding things to express gratitude for, even the smallest things, opens us up to receive many more circumstances, events, and individuals for which to be grateful.  It is a not so vicious cycle…

When I wake up in the morning, I set a reminder on my phone for a random time of day that will focus my attention on being grateful then and there!  When I do this, without exception, my day gets better, I feel happier, inspired, relaxed, and work becomes easier and more enjoyable.

It is a great way to give yourself a non-caffeinated pick me up!

Try it!  You will be amazed at your results!

So without further ado, here is what I am grateful for right now:

  1. I am grateful for sunny days.
  2. I am grateful that my ears allow me to hear the birds singing.
  3. I am grateful for my glass of wine.
  4. I am grateful for my faithful dog, Jake.
  5. I am grateful it is warm outside.
  6. I am grateful for the beautiful flowers blooming in my yard.
  7. I am grateful I live in a quiet, peaceful, and friendly neighborhood.
  8. I am grateful to the Universe for the creative inspiration to write this post.
  9. I am grateful I awoke to this amazing day.
  10. I am grateful to YOU for reading this blog!

Until next time, have a happy, healthy, grateful day!!!

I AM…

Recently, I have been focusing on, “I am…” statements.  The words, “I AM” are extremely powerful tools in the manifestation process.  The words that follow, “I am”, shape your reality.

WHY?

The Universe takes what we say after these two words as a statement of fact about what we believe ourselves to be.

Often, we use “I am” statements to create or reinforce negative beliefs:

  • I am tired.
  • I am poor.
  • I am stupid.
  • I am fat.
  • I am terrible at…
  • I am unloveable.
  • I am a victim

When used this way, “I am” statements doom us to continuely create and recreate negative results.

Fortunately, we can manifest our dreams and design an amazing life simply by using powerful positive “I am” statements.

What do you want to create in your life?  Do you want more money?  More friends?  A better job?   Who do you want to be?  Do you want to be healthy?  Beautiful?  Intelligent?Think about who you want to be and what you want to attract into your life and then add the words, “I AM”, at the beginning.

For example:

  • If you want to be a millionaire try the phrase,  I AM wealthy.
  • For individuals who want to attract a soul mate, begin with,  I AM loved.
  • If you want vibrant health or to be rid of a pain or illness try, I AM healthy.
  • Need some inspiration for an artistic project?  I AM creative.

You get the idea.

Don’t forget phrases like:

  • I AM talented.
  • I AM intelligent.
  • I AM a philanthropist.
  • I AM adventurous.
  • I AM successful.

I suggest taking some time over the next few days to review your goals and write down 1-2 inspiring and exciting “I am” statements for each goal.  It does not matter if it is true now, it simply needs to be a positive belief.

I have created a list of “I am” statements for myself and my goals and have encouraged many of my clients to do the same.  Both my clients and myself have noticed that we feel more confident, more enthusiastic about our goals, and overall happier.  It is amazing that 2 simple words have the power to attract so many spectacular and thrilling thoughts, circumstances, experiences, and people into our lives.

Once you have your “I am” statements written down, invest some time daily into reading them or speaking them out loud (I like to record mine and listen to them over and over) to fully immerse yourself in their power.

So until next time, remember:

January WellWork Week 1 Check In

You had the weekend to work on the 1st part of this month’s WellWork exercise, listing your goals, selecting one to focus on this month, and writing a specific goal.  (If you have not read the 1st installment of January’s WellWork you can click here to catch up.)

How is it going so far?

Were you able to list 3-5 goals?

Which goal did you pick to work on this month?  How far have you come in writing your goal in specific terms?

I have been working on my own goals for 2015 and I thought I would show my process as a way to share the experience with you and to give you some direction and motivatation.

These are some of my goals for 2015:

  1. I choose to sell more than 200 copies of my book, Cooking with Your Canine.
  2. I choose to add 1000 subscribers to my “Get Fit Newsletter“.
  3. I choose to finalize the concept for my new book and finish writing the book.
  4. I choose to take 2 out of town vacations of at least 3-4 days.

For this month I am going to focus on goal #2, add 1000 subscribers to my Get Fit Newsletter by the end of the year.

That may sound like a pretty specific goal, but it lacks substance and emotion which can make the goal more meaningful and motivating.

To improve my goal I spent some time thinking about what it will look and feel like as I work toward and eventually achieve my goal.  There is an feeling of excitement and accomplishment that I have each time someone signs up for the newsletter.  I enjoy having the opportunity to share knowledge that can help people improve their lives and reach their own health and wellness goals.

For right now my goal looks like this:

I am excited that more than 1000 people have given me the opportunity to help them achieve their health and wellness goals through my “Get Fit Newsletter.”  I am having fun learning new things that I can share with my subscribers.  I feel a sense of pride and accomplishment each time someone subscribes to the newsletter.

Over the next few days I will spend a few minutes each day thinking about and possibly revising my goal even further so stay tuned to see what I come up with for my WellWork goal.

Now, it’s time for you to share your progress.  Post your goal in the comment section below.  Let’s help each other make this our best year to date!

A Tip for Achieving Success

Want a quick tip on how to achieve the success you desire?

Stop letting your fear and your ego control you.

Take action and do not worry about the consequences!

Your ego will overwhelm you with all of the disasters that can happen as you progress toward your goal and fear can prevent you from moving forward.  Don’t let your ego block your success.

Sound scary?  Of course it does.  If it didn’t you would have already taken action and be well on your way or even achieved your goal.  Remember, nothing worth having ever came without some risk.

Do you need some help getting your ego under control?  If so, take the time to email me at achievewellness@ymail.com to arrange a 1-on-1 session.

September Monthly Wellwork

Holy Smokes it’s September!!!  Where has the year gone?
It is already time for your September Monthly Wellwork Exercise.

In previous Wellwork assignments and blogs I have talked about achieving goals and taking action daily to reach those goals even if those steps are small.  This month we are going to continue along the same idea but with a slightly different twist.

Often we get so busy with our daily routines and mundane tasks that we miss the hints, nudgings and opportunities the Universe (God, The Divine, etc.) sends our way to help move us in the direction of our dreams.  We get so busy waiting for the “big miracles” to come that we miss the small ones.

For example, perhaps you have a goal to buy a new home, but you need to save money for the down payment.  One day as you’re shopping for laundry detergent you come across the brand you always buy with a $.50 off coupon on it.  Big deal $.50, right? So what?  OR “HELLO”, there’s an unexpected $.50 the Universe just gave you toward your new home.  No, it’s not a big dramatic lottery winning miracle but it is a small step toward your goal.

Often waiting for the big finale can lead to frustration, doubt and negative thoughts which can slow the arrival of your goal.  Sometimes it can even lead to giving up on the goal altogether.   Now, imagine little miracles happening every day that propel you toward your goal.  Each day you have reassurance that you are on the right track and moving toward your goal.  Every day you are rewarded with hope for your positive attitude and daily action.

This month your task is to keep a daily Miracles Journal.  Each day write down all of the coincidences, opportunities, thoughts and other “lucky breaks” you receive.  It does not matter how large or small it is or whether or not it appears to relate to your goal, write down each and every “miracle”.  Read over the list and express gratitude for all of the wonders you received that day and for all of the wonders you already have.  Remember gratitude begets more things to be grateful for.

The comments section is a terrific place to share your daily miracles with others as well as let the Universe know you are paying attention so feel free to add a comment below.

If you have any questions or would like to work with me one-on-one to achieve your goals email me at achievewellness@ymail.com.

Enjoy this month’s Wellwork and have a Happy Health Day!

“Daily” Challenge – Peace Meditation – 7/18/14

World events over the last several days have brought into focus the downward spiral of society into war and violence.  Countries fighting countries, religions versus religions, drug cartels clashing with drug cartels, politician against politician and the list goes on.

The Law of Attraction tells us that what we think about we bring about.  Thus the more we focus on the unrest and violence in the world around us the more of it we create.  In addition, the Maharishi Effect provides us with scientific evidence that even a small group of individuals practicing the Transcendental Meditation technique can positively effect the surrounding population.             (Visit: http://theuncarvedblog.com/tag/research-on-meditation-and-world-peace for more information)

So, this time I am extending the Daily Challenge through the entire weekend.

Your challenge for the next 3 days is to spend 10-15 minutes each day meditating on “Peace”.   Now, for this exercise I am speaking not of inner peace but external or global peace.  Direct your meditation to thoughts, images and feelings of peaceful resolutions to conflicts around the world, in your community or in your personal life.  Visualize what the outcome of this resolution looks like.  How does the end to the conflict make you feel?  How does it postiviely affect you and those around you?  If you cannot “see” or “feel” a successful conclusion then simply make the word “Peace” your mantra.

We probably won’t change the world in 3 days but even a small shift in the collective conscious of the planet can have a major impact.

So, have a great and Peaceful weekend!
