3-2-1 SUCCESS!

Happy December!  The year is almost over, but that doesn’t mean it is time to take a break from working toward your goals.  Whether you have financial goals, career goals, personal development goals, or health and fitness goals, take some time this month to work toward and even achieve some of your goals.

I have created the exercise below to help you develop an action plan that will move you closer to your reaching your goal.  Remember, not every goal has to be a big, dramatic outcome goal.  For example, if your health goal is to ultimately lose 15 pounds,  you probably won’t be able to do it in a month (at least not in a healthy sustainable way).  However, you can set a few process goals such as doing 20 minutes of exercise 3-4x per week and eating 5-7 servings of vegetables daily.  Practicing the process goals will get you moving on the path to your ultimate outcome of losing 15 pounds.

Let’s expand this example to this month’s exercise:

3 things I will accomplish this month:

  1. Lose 3 pounds
  2. Stick to my holiday buying budget
  3. Read 1 personal development book

2 actions I can take:

  1. Lose 3 pounds
    1. Exercise 20-30 minutes 3-4x per week
    2. Eat 6+ servings of vegetables daily
  2. Stick to holiday budget
    1. Buy gifts using only cash not credit
    2. Create a gift buying list and purchase only what is on the list
  3. Read 1 book
    1. Decide what book to read
    2. Read 15-20 minutes daily and take notes

1 thing I can do today:

  1. Eat my veggies
  2. Write my gift buying list
  3. Get up 15 minutes early and read

If you follow this 3-2-1 plan, I guarantee you will be on your way to achieving not only your monthly goals but your ultimate outcome goals as well.

Make a Connection to Move Forward

Whether you call your higher power Spirit, Universe, God, Yahweh, Allah, or Goddess take a moment today to get quiet and make a connection to that higher power.

Your Higher Power knows what you need to do to move forward in the direction of your goals AND it wants to help you do so, however if you are closed off from the wisdom and guidance of your Power you will not receive this knowledge and the path to successful achievement of your goals will be little red with roadblocks.

In making a connection your Higher Power, you create a bond that puts you in the vibration of that higher power and allows you to hear the messages your Power sends to you and the trust you need to follow this message. Listen to what your Higher Power tells you, express gratitude for the message, and take steps to honor or follow the wisdom you receive.

Each morning, I take a few moments to make this connection: I find a quiet place to sit, take a few breaths, clear extraneous thoughts from my mind, and ask the Universe, “What can I do today to be of service to others?” Then I listen for the Universe’s answer. Within a minute or two, I receive a message/thought from the Universe. Often it is an action I can take such as writing a blog, being more present with clients, or sharing my knowledge. Other times it is more of a thought or feeling, “Trust me”, “Relax and have fun”, or “Just be happy”. When I take the Universe’s advice my days flow smoothly and I am calm and relaxed. On the days I forget to follow my message the day inevitably has a few hitches and I feel anxious and rushed.

Make connecting to your Higher Power a daily habit, learn to trust the messages you receive, and take action. I guarantee you will find the journey to your goal easier and more enjoyable.

Remember to Say, “Thank You” to the Universe

When you are on the path to manifesting better things into your life, you make mistakes, especially in the beginning:

  • You don’t trust or believe the Universe is listening.
  • You get impatient or frustrated when it does not arrive as quickly as you would like.
  • Or perhaps you even get angry and throw a tantrum like a little child and demand the Universe give you what you asked for immediately.

That’s ok!

Manifesting is a process, one where you learn what works for you and your Higher Power what does not. With every step you take down the path to manifesting your dreams and goals, you evolve and grow.

Throughout this process the Universe (God, Jesus, Higher Self, Allah, etc.) patiently waits for you to learn and apply the necessary lessons. No matter how much you resist or fuss, the Universe never gives up on you or your dreams.

So today, take a few moments to say, “Thank You,” to the Universe or your Higher Power for it’s patience, guidance, and support.

You make even close your eyes, take a few breaths, and repeat the following prayer or create one of your own.

Enjoy the connection you make to Spirit and have a happy, healthy day!

A Message from The Universe

As I was meditating this morning, a message came to me and I was encouraged to share:

Enjoy and do with it what you will.

Have a happy healthy day.

Get Specific

A few weeks ago, I was working in a group of fellow manifestors and I posed this fill-in the blank statement:

Today I intend to powerfully and successfully manifest________________________________.

Answers ranged from a new job, a car, a dream home, peace on earth, good health and the most common, financial abundance.

Now, theses are all great answers, but it got me thinking, “What IS financial abundance?” Or “What exactly does good health mean?” The answer to these questions is likely different for each person that completed my original statement. It occurred to me with all of these vague answers how is the Universe supposed to know what to deliver to you?

For example, you say, “I want to manifest a new job.” So, the Universe sends you a job, at a fast food restaurant. Not exactly what you intended. Then you end up frustrated because you got a job, but it isn’t what you wanted or dreamt. And the Universe says, “Hey, you said a new job you didn’t give me specifics! Don’t be picky”

Ok, maybe the Universe leaves out the “picky” part.

The point is, often we ask the Universe for something we want, but we are so vague and wish-washy about it that the Universe is left in limbo trying to figure out what we want it to deliver us.

The best way to resolve this miscommunication, is to get REALLY specific about what you want the Universe to deliver to you, put in every detail you can think of: how does it feel, what does it look like, smell like, where are you, who is with you, when is it taking place, how much? Keeping adding as new details occur to you.

Here’s an example:

Hello Universe, I would like a new career that allows me to work anywhere I choose in the world and on my own time schedule. I prefer to work alone or with a group of 3-4 people who share my ideas and passions. I want to use my skills in life coaching to help people achieve their goals and live their best life. I want to receive $15,000 every month in income so that I can travel, donate to my favorite charities, and start my own arts endowment.

Even though you get specific about what you want, DO NOT get too attached to the outcome. You have given the Universe a blueprint to work from, but as in any development process alterations may need to be made for the plans to work out in the fastest, easiest, most beneficial way.

After all if you ask for $1,000,000 and you get $3,000,000 will you be disappointed? Probably not!

I am a fan of adding, “This or something better”, to the end of my manifest requests just to let the Universe know I am open to a variety of options and solutions.

So, the next time you choose to manifest anything: a new car, great health, your soul mate, a nice dinner, or anything else make sure you help the Universe bring it into your reality by giving it a roadmap to follow and allowing the Universe to take a few detours to make the journey more fun and exciting!

Tuesday Tip of the Week – Review Your Goals

Welcome to week #8 of 2018, the week when most “New Years resolutions” become a distant memory.

So, what about you?

Are you sticking to the goals you set for yourself this year?

Do you even remember the goals you boldly set for 2018?

This week is a great time to recommit to your goals. If you have not written out your goals, get them on paper. Next, set a reminder on your calendar to review your goals on a regular basis.  You can decide how often you review your goals but read them over at least once per month.

Once you have reviewed your goals, ask yourself, “Am I taking action to achieve my goals on a regular basis”?  Any action, however small, gets you a step closer to what you want to achieve.  Even baby steps are better than no steps.  However, if you are not paying attention to your goals life may get in the way and you might forget to take those steps.

I review my goals every 5 days.  I read each one and ask myself what I have done over the past few days to move closer toward successful achievement of the goal.

You do not have to be taking action on every goal every week.  For example, one of my goals is to take a painting class this year.  It is not a high priority goal and so I have been focusing my attention on my financial and career goals.  But, each week when I review my goals I see my painting class goal and am reminded that it is on my 2018 “to do” list.  Had I not committed it to paper and if I was not reviewing it regularly more likely than not it would not get done.

If you are serious about sticking to the goals you set for yourself this year, recommit to them by writing them down and reviewing them regularly.  Take action, even if it is just a tiny step, and your success is assured.

Need help recommitting or acting on your goals?  I can help you create an action plan that will get you moving in the right direction.  Email me at achievewellness@ymail.com for a complimentary 15 minute consultation.

The Power of “IS/ARE” statements

A few months ago, I wrote about the power of, “I AM” statements.  In that post, I suggested you use “I AM…” statements to help you powerfully manifest the life of your dreams.  In the eyes of The Universe, “I am” statements are statements of fact.  Whatever you say you are is what you are, as far as The Universe is concerned.  As a result, consciously making empowering, “I AM” statements can help shape and define your life.

The great thing about “I am” statements is you can use them to help improve your relationships with the people around you.  When you say things like, “We are…” or “They are…” you also call into existence more of the corresponding qualities.

For example, if you are talking about your coworkers and you say, “WE ARE a terrific team!”  You create an even better and more cohesive team.  Or in relation to your spouse, “He/She IS loving and supportive”, you are guaranteed to create even more love and support.

Remember, these types of statements do not need to be true NOW, they simply need to be positive beliefs you choose to manifest,

To be clear, “They are”, “He/she is”, or “We are” statements are not about changing other people.  We have no power to manifest or force change on others nor should we try.  Instead, these types of statements reframe our views or beliefs about the relationship with these individuals.  As you begin to react differently and more positively to the relationship the other person/people may also begin to react in a more positive way.  Or they may not.  Either way you will be in a better frame of mind and your inner peace and positivity are all that matter when it comes to achieving your dreams.

“Is/Are” statements are not an end all cure all.  If your boss acts like a jerk or your spouse is abusive, using “Is/Are” statements most likely will not miraculously make the situation better, but they may help you manifest a space for yourself that makes your life tolerable until you can create a plan to move on.

Now that you are aware of the power of, “IS/ARE” statements, think about some of the relationships your would like to reinforce or improve and then write down a few statements to support what you want to create.

Feel free to share your statements below to help inspire and motivate other readers.

Until next time:

What Are You Grateful RIGHT NOW?

As I write this, I am sitting on my patio on a sunny, 80 degree afternoon while sipping a glass of wine, and listening to the birds sing and chirp merrily.  It is blissful and I am grateful.

There are so many things to be grateful for every moment of every day that we can often take some of life’s simple pleasures for granted.  But, if we take a few short moments each day to stop and reflect on what we have to be thankful for in that moment, we can begin to see how truly fortunate we are, even if that particular instant is not one of our best or happiest.  Finding things to express gratitude for, even the smallest things, opens us up to receive many more circumstances, events, and individuals for which to be grateful.  It is a not so vicious cycle…

When I wake up in the morning, I set a reminder on my phone for a random time of day that will focus my attention on being grateful then and there!  When I do this, without exception, my day gets better, I feel happier, inspired, relaxed, and work becomes easier and more enjoyable.

It is a great way to give yourself a non-caffeinated pick me up!

Try it!  You will be amazed at your results!

So without further ado, here is what I am grateful for right now:

  1. I am grateful for sunny days.
  2. I am grateful that my ears allow me to hear the birds singing.
  3. I am grateful for my glass of wine.
  4. I am grateful for my faithful dog, Jake.
  5. I am grateful it is warm outside.
  6. I am grateful for the beautiful flowers blooming in my yard.
  7. I am grateful I live in a quiet, peaceful, and friendly neighborhood.
  8. I am grateful to the Universe for the creative inspiration to write this post.
  9. I am grateful I awoke to this amazing day.
  10. I am grateful to YOU for reading this blog!

Until next time, have a happy, healthy, grateful day!!!

I AM…

Recently, I have been focusing on, “I am…” statements.  The words, “I AM” are extremely powerful tools in the manifestation process.  The words that follow, “I am”, shape your reality.

WHY?

The Universe takes what we say after these two words as a statement of fact about what we believe ourselves to be.

Often, we use “I am” statements to create or reinforce negative beliefs:

  • I am tired.
  • I am poor.
  • I am stupid.
  • I am fat.
  • I am terrible at…
  • I am unloveable.
  • I am a victim

When used this way, “I am” statements doom us to continuely create and recreate negative results.

Fortunately, we can manifest our dreams and design an amazing life simply by using powerful positive “I am” statements.

What do you want to create in your life?  Do you want more money?  More friends?  A better job?   Who do you want to be?  Do you want to be healthy?  Beautiful?  Intelligent?Think about who you want to be and what you want to attract into your life and then add the words, “I AM”, at the beginning.

For example:

  • If you want to be a millionaire try the phrase,  I AM wealthy.
  • For individuals who want to attract a soul mate, begin with,  I AM loved.
  • If you want vibrant health or to be rid of a pain or illness try, I AM healthy.
  • Need some inspiration for an artistic project?  I AM creative.

You get the idea.

Don’t forget phrases like:

  • I AM talented.
  • I AM intelligent.
  • I AM a philanthropist.
  • I AM adventurous.
  • I AM successful.

I suggest taking some time over the next few days to review your goals and write down 1-2 inspiring and exciting “I am” statements for each goal.  It does not matter if it is true now, it simply needs to be a positive belief.

I have created a list of “I am” statements for myself and my goals and have encouraged many of my clients to do the same.  Both my clients and myself have noticed that we feel more confident, more enthusiastic about our goals, and overall happier.  It is amazing that 2 simple words have the power to attract so many spectacular and thrilling thoughts, circumstances, experiences, and people into our lives.

Once you have your “I am” statements written down, invest some time daily into reading them or speaking them out loud (I like to record mine and listen to them over and over) to fully immerse yourself in their power.

So until next time, remember:

January WellWork Week 1 Check In

You had the weekend to work on the 1st part of this month’s WellWork exercise, listing your goals, selecting one to focus on this month, and writing a specific goal.  (If you have not read the 1st installment of January’s WellWork you can click here to catch up.)

How is it going so far?

Were you able to list 3-5 goals?

Which goal did you pick to work on this month?  How far have you come in writing your goal in specific terms?

I have been working on my own goals for 2015 and I thought I would show my process as a way to share the experience with you and to give you some direction and motivatation.

These are some of my goals for 2015:

  1. I choose to sell more than 200 copies of my book, Cooking with Your Canine.
  2. I choose to add 1000 subscribers to my “Get Fit Newsletter“.
  3. I choose to finalize the concept for my new book and finish writing the book.
  4. I choose to take 2 out of town vacations of at least 3-4 days.

For this month I am going to focus on goal #2, add 1000 subscribers to my Get Fit Newsletter by the end of the year.

That may sound like a pretty specific goal, but it lacks substance and emotion which can make the goal more meaningful and motivating.

To improve my goal I spent some time thinking about what it will look and feel like as I work toward and eventually achieve my goal.  There is an feeling of excitement and accomplishment that I have each time someone signs up for the newsletter.  I enjoy having the opportunity to share knowledge that can help people improve their lives and reach their own health and wellness goals.

For right now my goal looks like this:

I am excited that more than 1000 people have given me the opportunity to help them achieve their health and wellness goals through my “Get Fit Newsletter.”  I am having fun learning new things that I can share with my subscribers.  I feel a sense of pride and accomplishment each time someone subscribes to the newsletter.

Over the next few days I will spend a few minutes each day thinking about and possibly revising my goal even further so stay tuned to see what I come up with for my WellWork goal.

Now, it’s time for you to share your progress.  Post your goal in the comment section below.  Let’s help each other make this our best year to date!
